Feign

i called you up to feign my best of intentions
all my words were tossed down a well seeking a bottom,
non-existent.
and i'd guessed you'd expect that from me.

the earth flipped on it's side when i was on the top of a frozen piece of ice and seemed to forget me.
the moon decided (s)he'd stop enforcing the laws that (s)he knew everyone there could use. because they take advantage.
and said "they don't deserve the right to be standing on a stable place that they don't even like."
the sun thought it'd be nice to spend some quality time with his daughters he'd seemed to have forgot. it was for their own good.
the moon had a long laugh at this terrible sight when (s)he thought of what we all should know....that we all deserve this.

Hold
03:02
|
|||
the awful actors in this play can't take one more day. the set is holding out on all them. while up on marionette strings are reminders of our days - passed away. forever holding us back in our present states.
these are
everything you held too close to hear
all the
cries they make - you're smothering them

Swallow your keys
04:13
|
|||
these bombs are dropping from too high.
even if we could, i know that we'd not use our eyes.
so swallow your keys - lock back of mind
so you can feel this way for the rest of your life.
and when i breathed too much smoke in
my lungs could not begin to begin
to believe what i just ran into -
something, with nothing i can do.
my sense of urgency cannot be denied
my sense of ignorance can light up the night skies
and you know that i am everything you need
and you are everything that you want me to believe.
i've seen things you'd not believe, boy.
i've seen things that would wake you from your sleep.
now this is not how you were explained, no.
no, this is not what they told you you'd see.
your sense of urgency is always denied
your sense of ignorance you'll never try to hide
and you know that you are everything they need.
and you are everything that you want me to believe.

Ground
01:34
|
|||
can you look out on the horizon?
can you tell me you see a place where everything there could make these bad thoughts erased?
in the city, high-rise apartments are not a place for the likes of you. you will die before you hit the ground.

100 times over
03:17
|
|||
only two more sessions left to go.
and if you had felt like i feel you'd have tossed it long ago.
everyday these footsteps fall too hard.
i've fallen awake with a medicated start
i know it's wrong
but nothing feels right.
i've fallen down to my knees.
i wake up to alarm - rented room
and i can't seem to find the deed or proof
that common law has stated that i have earned
the full possession of this room. it is my turn
to be lost
among the stars,
i'll burn and fade.
and there's no way you'll see me up there today.
no, there's no way you'll be seeing me today.
i've written these one hundred songs one hundred times over.
